I previously used a retracting keychain to keep my house key in place on my purse so that I could get to it quickly and wouldn't need to fumble with my keychain and other keys while trying to lock or unlock my front door. I bought the MQR hoping to replace that system as the retracting keychain would frequently snap back and hit me in the process, or got caught up on things. This has been the perfect solution. The magets are strong enough to keep hold of my house key, and discreetly sized so you're not adding unneccesary bulk or changing the look of anything you attach the MQR to (except in a good way, these are small and good looking). I ended up buying 3 hoping to also anchor my car keys in my purse so that they would have a "home" where I would always know where to reach for them. Any person who carries a purse or bag and has had the pleasure of digging through the entire thing in the dark looking for keys would benefit from the MQR keychians. I used the third one to anchor my fidget cube toy so that it doesn't get lost or crushed in my bag when I take it out into the world. I know it seems like a small thing, a magnet keychain, and that it probably doesn't seem like it will make a huge difference in your life, but this has really saved me a lot of frustration and I highly recommend it.
This is a great piece of equipment for any edc carry. I highly recommend this product!
Best Product Ever!!!
Received both of my quick release keychains and love them. Probably the best ones that I own thus far. Keep up the good work and innovation!
Love this product, so useful in so many situations. I used mine to attach my mini tuc to a lanyard for easy retrieval on the outside of my EDC bag.
The MQRs were on the pricey side but I gotta say, you get what you pay for. The build quality is amazing. I had S Biners on my keychain and replaced them with the MQR. It made my keychain look a lot cleaner and fancier. I would definitely purchase again.
Love these for keys or things you use keychains for. Uses a magnet for easy breakaway. The magnet is strong enough to hold anything on the key ring but then when needed can easily pull away. Then when wanting to put the key ring back, snaps easily and securely back. The best part is the size. Normally these quick release mechanisms for key ring are big and bulky but this isn't. It's the smallest I've seen.
The Qick release is alot lighter than its brass/copper counter part at a slightly higher price.
It's made with high precision and high quality machining, given how difficult it is to work with titanium.
If you care about the weight of your key set, defiintely get the Titanium version.
Bougth 3 Mqr, brass, copper and titanium. I prefer the titanium due to the weight but all three are great. At the end it comes down to what material you prefer. The magnets are very strong and fun to fidget. They are a little small, I would like to see a bigger mqr in the future.
Best invention for your keys! A must have ! Make sure you order more than one or you will be back again !
very useful edc
very useful samll edc
I've got two of these little guys and they are helping with our mail keys jumping on and off the car keys without turning the car off. Great stuff!
Very helpful when trying to use my keys! I do not have to take out all of my keys to open my office. I just pull on the key and the magnet does it job! Great product!!!! will purchase more stuff in the future!
Great high quality product, super useful in a daily routines, i myself own 3 sets of MQR and they are awesome!!!
Super impressed with the magnetic strength and compact size.
Thanks a lot to Brad for creating amazing fidget toys and tools!
Waited forever for it to be back in stock. Did not disappoint. Love it
Best quick release I own, next to the titanium haha. The magnet is strong enough where u don't have to worry about ur TUKK falling off and it stays in place until u are ready to use it
Small solution for getting my thumb drive with all my drawings on it off without the bulk of the push release I used previously.
The item shipped next day and got here in 3 days. Quality is unmatched
Great product just as everything I have purchased from Brad. PERFECT addition to a TUKK that makes it truly convenient to use. Grab one when you can because you will not be disappointed; impeccable craftsmanship!!!
I like the bigger keyring hole also Extremely fast shipping.
Looks great and holds securely! Easy to separate when you are ready but never fails. Excellent product.
The magnets are so strong that you don't have to worry about them coming apart. The magnets are so strong u can carry you TUKK worry free!!!
The Ti MQR is another great product from Brad! I love the new slightly larger holes. It allows for a larger split ring if needed. The strength of these magnets are really strong (especially for such a tiny product). I have about 10 MQRs and the uses are endless. Highly reccomend purchasing one or a few!
I have these on all my tukk products and a lot of my keys, the simplicity and clean lines are the best. Before I owned one I was skeptical about the strength but once you have one in your hands it all goes away. Supper strong supper product just like everything Brad makes. Buy it you won't be disappointed!
This is a very handy thing for anything you want to attach to a keychain and be able to quickly pull it off without having to even pull your keychain out of your pocket. Be warned though that the magnets are EXTREMELY powerful and will try to stick to anything ferrous on your keychain. Most of the stuff on my keychain is titanium or aluminum but a few things have either steel bits on them or something magnetic inside and it will try to stick. For instance my titanium quick release carabiners have steel clips which the magnets will try to stick to, and my tiny ti keychain flashlight has li-ion batteries which are apparently magnetic because the magnets will try to stick to the side of the titanium case. This isn't really a negative for me as it doesn't stick too hard to these items but if you have a lot of steel or other ferrous items on your keychain you will definitely find them all stuck to this.
The MQRs were well made, and hold up well when attaching things to my keychain. Convenient to leave certain keys off it when I don't need them.
Super glad I purchased these. Small and strong. They work great for anybody looking to up their keychain game.
Probably the single best thing that ever happened to my keys. No more turning the truck off and taking the keys with me to go get the mail. Now I just pop half my keys off with the TIMQR and go!
The MQR has worked out great on my keychain. I use it to attach my car key/fob to my main keychain. The fit and finish of the MQR is great.
This keychain accessory is fantastic! Got mine hanging from a keybiner with my truck key. Magnets are strong enough but not overpowering so when they do connect to other metal when not in use it's not super annoying. Great product and will be getting a Copper MQR in the future!
The brilliant design small and compact yet the magnet magnets are strong to give you confidence they will be together until you really want them apart.
I really love this key chain. The manufacturer says 4lbs but I think that's a bit high. I measured at around 3 and change. Not like it's a big deal though.
The construction seems solid enough for a key chain and it is just about as compact as you can get it. The only thing that could happen would be the magnets falling out. I doubt it though.
Also, and I feel stupid for not considering this, these are magnets... they will stick to everything ferrous. Which includes some keys. It's not really bad but yeah... be aware of that. The things don't really have a long range and they aren't as strong from the sides though so it isn't a serious problem.
The price? Yeah it's a little high but I understand. It's small batches so it's going to be. The quality is definitely on point so you're getting what you pay for.
Love this ti mqr! I wear the ti mqr with tukk on my dog tags and it's hard to even express how much easier life has become. If you're thinking about buying, do it.
I have a small pen that I carry on my keychain and it always is cumbersome to write with the rest of the keychain dangling at the back of the pen. The magnetic quick release works great for this purpose. It's easy to remove the pen when needed, but it is sufficiently strong that I have never had it come off accidentally.
The only downside is the overall added size. I was able to attach the quick release with two 10mm titanium split rings. But that brings the overall length to about 1¼" (give or take). I wish there was a way to keep things more compact, but I see the engineering issues involved.
Also, as the quick release is magnetic, it likes to stick to everything else. I had to make sure that all of my keyrings were titanium and that the pen is plastic.
Having said that, I am happy with my purchase. The price is on the high side, but that's an issue with economy of scale; and there really isn't any viable alternative on the market -- trust me, I checked.
I've added a brass (non-magnetic) ring on each half of my Titanium MQR. One ring is attached to a leather keychain (by Elliot Havok). A house key is on the other ring. Using this arrangement I can quickly remove the house key for the lock and then easily magnetically re-attach to the keychain with the MQR.
Other than being incredibly well machined and useful as hell, buying my last two sets as soon as the online sale went live is the highest praise - Brad's the man!
Very glad I added this to the basket when I purchased my copper TUKK. This is one of the simplest yet best idea in keychains period. It is sleek, strong, and is perfect addition to my keys/TUKK for convenience. Once again great materials and craftsmanship that go into MQR make it superior to all others; another homerun. I will be purchasing one of all materials offered now!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Love the MQR! My copper one is a nice work of art. It marries well with the TUKK. Holds it securely on your keychain, but releases with ease when you need it to. Could be used for all kinds of things you need for your EDC. Great craftsmanship. Get one!
Loved the magnet hold, its impressive!! I would love to order a few more. They are cool little trinquetes
This is a great little addition to my EDC gear. I use it to connect my keys to my car key. It's a great product. It looks great and works perfectly. The magnet is strong enough to hold my everything but not so strong that it is a pain to remove. Amazing gear!!!
Ecxellent way to keep your Tukk on your keychain, or as a magnetic key holder. Very strong magnets for how small they are.
Super handy addition to the TUKK. I keep my keys in my jeans key pocket and let the TUKK hang out. Before when I used the TUKK it was a little uncomfortable holding my car keys and keeping the blade extended, but now I can grab it separately at any angle I need. Use it several times a day at work to quickly grab the knife without having to dig in my pocket for it or fumble with the rest of my keys while holding it. Gonna Grab a titanium one once they're back in stock.
I have been looking for a compact quick-detach device for my keychain that would allow me to separate out my "tools" - (Victorinox nail clipper, Nitecore Tip light, TEC Accessories Inchworm ruler and Tru Utility telescoping pen) from my keys. My "tools" are on a separate D-shackle. I tried a number of keychain carabiner designs which were always too bulky as well as awkward to detach. Then I discovered the MQR which is absolutely perfect for this purpose. I ordered a few of them.
easy to use and very handle
Perfect addition to the tukk!
Great little items that work and help keep my car's ignition from being damaged since I carry a lot on my keychain. Well made as always. I also have brass, copper & titanium magnets as well as a titanium pen from Tactical Keychains and I like all of them.
This two part key chain is made by a craftsman and it shows. Works great! Charming in more ways than one. A little small so I would not recommend it for someone who needs more than 8 keys, but it is perfect for a couple of car keys and a few door keys. I am glad to own one.
This is a great strong little copper magnet. Looks great with my tukk and everything else in my edc. Made and looks great!! 5 stars
Amazing customer service. Contacted because I lost one end of an MQR. ALso wanted to buy another. They sent me a replacement gratis with my order. Love the product and the customer service
I have yet to install it on my key ring, but it does spend it's time with My copper TUKK. With the ability to quick attach or release my TUKK to my person, it's dramatically reduced my proclivity to lose it. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more or recommend them to others. I'm loving a tactical keychain life.
It just works, I'll definitely be ordering more!
Two weeks ago I purchased 2 magnetic quick release, one attached to a TUKK and the other to a Peanut lighter on my key ring. The magnets are strong enough to hold the items with no accidental drops and make it it extremely handy to access and use the tools with no keys in hand. Note that with 2 magnetic quick release on a keychain, orient the polarity so they do not stick to one another (i.e. N on both should be on the key ring and S on the tool). Works well to keep each separated with similar polarity.
8mm split rings are a perfect fit, Ti rings are not nessisary it recommended.
Sometimes a product gets overthought and the end result fails due to trying to be all things to all people. This is a simple, staightforward design that works well, as intended. The magnet is strong enough to prevent accidental loss, but easy enough to fulfill it's quick release function. The copper finish just adds a final touch of class with panache...
The MQR is very handy for hanging up tools, keys and cords in my shop. The magnet is very strong.
The MQR is very handy for hanging up tools, keys and cords in my shop. The magnet is very strong.
Love the brass! magnets strong as are all the magnets I have received from tactical keychains. Extremely fast service and delivery!
Overall it's a great peice. The machining is nice and smooth. I have my keys on it and it works great. Plus you can play with the magnets, who doesn't like that.
I love this magnet. I had a few of the standard finishes prior to ordering the copper. I love the copper finish - already starting to develop a nice patina. of course the magnets are nice and strong like the previous magnets I have ordered.
The magnets are very strong. I can easily give the supplies cabinet key to my students without giving them all my keys.
i already had 1 MQR in titanium and loved it so much i ordered more. the magnets are strong so no worries of it separating by accident. its great to be able to just pop off the key you need easily. and pop it back on when you are done. will definitely be getting more in the future
I already have a TiMQR that I love. I use the brass one on my work keys to separate some of the stuff I use most often.
If your here your obviously a least considering this. Let me help you deside.. BUY IT .. I use it 10+ times a day and like the others said your going to be pleasantly shocked when you see how stong the magnets actually are. I have a TUKK on it and there's no way its falling off. I trust it hanging on the outside of my pocket off a carabinier. Will be buying a few more as I as many of you have a bad CU addiction
Cool product but i wish the magnets were a lil stronger but i still love it
I love the Ti-MQRs, but I have a few EDC items in copper that have developed a beautiful patina over time. Now I have some copper MQRs that match that look, yet offer the same reliability as the Ti model. I'm patiently waiting to see what these look like as they age. Definitely a must have for those of us with a copper addiction (in addition to that crippling Ti addiction.)
Despite some complaints that the hole is a bit tight on these, I've managed to get 10mm split rings on the MQR. This makes for a low profile attachment to my TUKK, so I can (at my own risk, I am sure this is not recommended) wear it around my neck at all times, and give it a quick tug when I need it. The strength of the magnets is perfect. Secure enough that I don't risk losing it, but requires little effort to tug it loose when I need it. I also am using MQRs to attach my wife and my Serge Pachenko dog tag knives. I also use them to hang up small EDC gear when it is not in use (it is amazing the number of surfaces these end up stuck to!) I just got more copper MQRs on Massdrop, you really cannot have enough of these!
These are the perfect accessory for your keys! I have all my keys bound together on another one of Brad's products the TiKey except for my car key that is rather large. But then I use one of these to connect it to my TiKey and it is awesome! My case is that maybe I have the car running but I need to run in the house to get something no problem with this! Just a quick disconnect and I can run in the house without turning the car off. I bought 3 of these on Kickstarter and I use them all the time! Like all of his stuff the quality is amazing and at the price he puts these at you must buy them! There is nothing else even close to this on the market they were perfect for me and I am sure they will be perfect for you too!
Great Product - I keep my truck key on one end and house on the other - I can warm up the truck and not turn it off when I lock the house to leave,
I purchased this product in Oct of 15. Awesome product. Simple yet PERFECT. I use it everyday to keep track of my keys. Love it KEEP IT UP!!! Anybody with a keychain needs to purchase a TKMQR.
OK you probably already have that special copper EDC and this is the perfect item to hook it to the keyring. It's so small it fits right in with everything you carry but the magnet packs a punch. Love to hear that Snap when it hooks up. Great to use for the item you need to remove quickly from the keyring. Love the copper color and the patina it takes on over time. Solid in the pocket and use it everyday. Get it for your flashlight and you can hook it up to the car hood or garage shelf when you need a quick light.
The titanium MQR was purchased from the kickstarter launch in 2015. The light weight of the titanium is great because it doesn't add to the mass of all the other EDC items. It's great to be able to quickly remove something from the keyring without doing the typical spin and slide. For me it's hooked up to a small bottle opener that can be quickly offered to help out a friend in need. Have also used it for small key ring flashlight and can use magnet to connect it to the car hood or shelf in the garage for a quick light. Has a good solid snap when it connects and never had an issue with it falling off. Good to match it up with a small titanium keyring so the magnet doesn't stick to the (steel) keyring. In the pocket it stays together all the time and the magnets have not interfered with anything else. You can also unhook them and use them to hang up stuff on the wall letting it connect to the screw in the wall!
I have the TiMQR (titanium Magnetic Quick Release) for about 6 months now and i use it every day. Whether you use it to quickly release your keyholder from your beltloop, use it on workgear to grab the TUKK easily, or clip it into your bag to get quick acces to a wallet or carkeys, these ase great in every way. The only thing i regret is that i didn't get more than one when these were available. The magnets are very strong, and when you are coming home you can just stick them onto something metal next to the door so you won't forget them when walking out the door
Strong little quick release, perfect for light weight items. I have one on both Tukks and definitely couldn't do without them. Let me reiterate how strong these are, you can hang your tukk from your beltloop and after day of work it's still holding strong ready to go.
